This is a quick wilderness survival tip on one type of berry to avoid. Though some of the species are technically edible and used as a flavoring in gin, it is best to just avoid these all together as some of them are poisonous. Also the Juniper “berry” is technically a small type of modified cone, not technically a berry. But since they can be easily confused as a berry and since they often appear blue and are an exception to the berry edibility rule, I thought I would point them out to you so that you don’t mistake them for an edible berry.
