Naples Daily News 2019 hurricane preparedness seminar

Living in Florida, it’s not a question of “if,” but “when” you will experience a hurricane, and as we all know firsthand, not only are acts of nature, such as hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes unavoidable, but more importantly, they are highly unpredictable. One minute a hurricane could be headed to the East Coast of Florida and the next it turns and comes straight toward the West Coast. And while there’s no way to prevent a natural disaster from happening, with a little organization and careful preparation, you can at least make the experience a little less horrific.

Dan Summers, director of the Collier County Bureau of Emergency Services, will be sharing tips and guidance on how to prepare for Hurricane season this year. With many lessons from Hurricane Irma, we will have expert advice on what to do this year.

Naples’ PREMIER Professional Organizer and Naples Daily News Get Organized columnist Marla Ottenstein shows you how easy it is to prepare for a hurricane and rest easy knowing you’ve done everything you can before disaster hits. Marla will share valuable hints and shopping suggestions, as well as her “Ultimate Hurricane Checklist,” which has been recognized by experts as being one of the most comprehensive and well-planned checklists available.
